Another awesome find that comes in handy at the gym is my new wireless earbuds. I found these on Amazon on sale for $40. I can run and workout in these without worrying about a wire getting in the way or the earbuds falling out. I can't say enough good things about these since I used them for two weeks straight before having to charge them! You can get them with prime shipping on the link below! They also come with different sizes of replaceable ear-pieces to adjust to your comfort level. The sound quality is amazing and even work well for phone calls.
My final tip is for buying your pre-workout energy drinks. The other day I went to buy a "bang" energy drink before heading to the gym. After tax, one drink was over $3. My advice is to pay attention to the signs hanging in the display. Your best deal is to buy 3 drinks for the price of $5.75 instead. This way you have a back-stock for your upcoming workouts (saving you time) and you're saving money!
