College Student Freebies

Updated: May 17, 2019

Being a student actually has a few perks when you're shopping or eating out. Just incase, I ask every restaurant and store at checkout if they do a student discount. (You never know!) I have even found a hair salon that gives me a student discount!

This is a list of stores and restaurants that offer student discounts and free resources that are on your campus!

1. Lulus.com: I recently purchased a bridesmaid dress from this site which can get pricy. You can sign up with your student ID number to get 15% off every purchase! Use this link to sign up: https://www.lulus.com/unidays

2. Romwe has some of the cheapest clothes and swimwear! Plus, they offer 10% off for students. You can make a purchase here: https://us.romwe.com/user/auth/login?invited_toke=UI3ce5fgOCiuUGnnSFIE23qG.

As you can see, they have cheap clothing already!

3. My favorite student discount is the Spotify premium discount. Only $4.99 a month for students, and it comes with free Hulu AND Showtime accounts! This really is the best deal for combining your music and tv in one bill.

4. American Eagle has a 20% off discount for students when you use "unidays" either in store or online! You can use this link to sign up: https://www.myunidays.com/US/en-US/partners/americaneagle/view/online

5. Nike (and Under Armour) offers students 10% off any online order! All you need to do is verify your student email address here: https://www.nike.com/us/en_us/c/help/student-discount

6. Old Navy: Show them your ID in store to get a 10% student discount.

7. Sam's Club: Students get a free gift card when they sign up for a yearly membership!

8. Cinemark Movie Theaters: Every Tuesday is student day! ($5 movies)

9. Moe's: Show them your student ID for a 10% discount off your total!

10. Slim Chicken's: They do a student discount everyday of the week and a 20% discount one day a week!

9. Your CAR INSURANCE: After working for State Farm, I've learned that many insurance companies will give you a discount for having good grades. Ask your insurance about this! Send them your transcript to get a discount.

This is a list of free resources I have found on my own campus that are likely to be similar to other schools!

1. The WOW Closet: This is a closet that allows students to come in and get an entire outfit for free (dresses, pants, shoes, jewelry) for interviews or career fairs. This is the perfect way to get a professional outfit without having to buy one. You can read more about it here: https://uca.edu/career/wow-closet/

2. Gym: I have never seen the point in paying for a monthly gym membership when you have a free one on your campus. I'm taking advantage of mine for the next few months while I still can! (Plus, you're already paying for this gym in your tuition.)

3. Career Services: UCA has the best Career Services department. They actually care that you're employed by the time you graduate. They offer so many free services, but my favorite thing they do is free professional head-shots for students.

4. Food Pantry: There are always options for students who need help getting food. UCA's program is called Bear Essentials Food Pantry: https://uca.edu/foodbank/. (This is also a great place to donate your food that you don't use!)

There are so many free and useful resources on every campus, you just have to look for them!

xoxo, Mattie
